dohanews:

Artists Christto Sanz and Andrew Weir are on a mission and a journey of sorts, in Qatar.

Here’s a behind the scenes look at their new photography project “Unparalleled Objectives: Globalizing the local, localizing the global.”

Globalization has changed the way we think, the way we communicate, and our entire civilization. Everyday the place where you are born, the way you look, and the language you speak is becoming less and less important, as we move further into a globally harmonious society.

Week reflection

What a lovely week this has been. I just adore it when you get as much sleep as you want and still can function fine - actually, really fine - in school.

Why can’t all weeks be like this?

Thursday’s coming up and hopefully we’ll enjoy our new weekend routine change; Instead of playing Mario all day and making fun of Ahlam and her lack of coherent-ness, we have decided to go to Villaggio to play some Go Karting and to devour hoards of food.

In news regarding school, I’m actually pretty hyped about the speech we were assigned to write for next class. It’a an autobiographical regarding an event that has changed your life significantly and I chose to talk about my transition from 9th grade to 10th grade and how I fundamentally changed as a person and how I was pulled out of the abyss and into what I am now with the help of catalysts such as Mayed. It’s funny how the apex of my speech concerns a person who does not talk to me today because I ask questions like “hey wanna have lunch”.

Which brings me to my next point. I really feel like writing something about my situation with Mayed right now. A post in which I analyze his attitudes towards social interactions. A post not intended for him, for, who knows mayed better than mayed. No, it would be something for me that I could go back to in order to remember why he does the unexplained things he does.

Priorities

Me: "Thousands of protesters are being imprisoned and massacred by their own government in Syria."
US Government: "Meh."
Me: "Israel continues to bully the native Palestinian population, assassinate dignitaries across the region and point nuclear weapons at the surrounding Arab nations, all with the support of US tax payer dollars."
US Government: "Meh."
Me: "Iran has never been found to be in violation of international nuclear treaties, yet we're imposing economic sanctions and nearly ready to go to war with them preemptively."
US Government: "Meh."
Me: "Gays want to get married..."
US Government: "OH THE MORAL OUTRAGE!"
